Non-indigenous groups pledge to improve security in Adamawa

Different non-indigenous associations has formed a Coalition Forum (CONIF), in Adamawa state and vowed to support government towards improving security situation in all parts of the state.

Chairman of the coalition, Chief Ofor Eze, Nwachukwu, stated this at the formal inauguration of 19 member state executives and LGAs Coordinators in Yola over the weekend.

The coalition, an umbrella organization of 35 associations of non-indigenes, urged Gov. Mohammed Jibrilla, to close the gap between indigenes and non indigenes resident in the state.

Nwachukwu, pointed out that, the objectives of the coalition is to foster unity among the members, as law abiding citizens and initiate developmental project within the host community.

“Today’s inauguration is a clarion call for non- indigenes to advance the interest of the non -indigenes and indigenes for the betterment of the state.

“Our objective is to foster cooperation among ourselves and build bridges of friendship with host community.

“The 35 associations that made up the coalition, has a vital role to play in improving the security situation in the state.

“The leaders of these associations can easily identify new members and report accordingly any breach of peace to security personnel. He maintained.

The members of the coalition were drawn from all over the federation, while oath of office and allegiance was administered by Barrister Godwin Ehimikhou from Kowa chambers to pilot the affairs of the coalition for the next four years.
