Nollywood Legend, Pete Edochie Celebrates His 70th Birthday with Family and Friends in Enugu

Nollywood legend, Peter Edochie, who turned 70 years on Tuesday, and said that the secret to a long and healthy life was living healthy and being focused, has celebrated his birthday with family and friends in Enugu.

Multi-award winning veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie who turned a a year older few days ago, celebrated his 70th birthday in grand style in his home down in Enugu state.

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka on Tuesday when he turned 70, he said that he is more focused as ever, adding that he was still feeling strong attaining “three score and ten” years.

“Taking life easy and planning purposefully for everything makes life worth living as well as ageing gracefully,’’ he said.

He said though life has not been that rosy, but with great determination and commitment he has been able to attain some successes.

Born on 7th March 1947, Chief Pete Edochie is considered one of Africa’s most talented actors, by both Movie Awards and Movie Magic’s Africa Magic Cable network.

Although a seasoned administrator and broadcaster, he came into prominence in the 1980s when he played the lead role of Okonkwo in an NTA adaptation of Chinua Achebe’s all-time best selling novel, Things Fall Apart.

Edochie descends from the Igbo people in the south east part of Nigeria, and is a devoted Catholic christian.
