Nigeria Can Provide 50% of Africa’S Seafarers by 2020 – NIMASA

Mr Felix Bobnabena, the Di­rector, Administration and Per­sonnel, Nigerian Maritime Ad­ministration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), has tipped Nigeria to provide 50 per cent of Africa’s re­quirement of seafarers by 2020.

Bobnabena speaking in Lagos stressed that the maritime sector held immense potential to employ Nigerian youths, citing the na­tion’s 853 km coastline.

He said that with a population strength of 170million, mostly youths, Nigerians can excel in maritime careers and will be in demand worldwide.
