Nigeria can be Africa’s most industrialized nation in 10 yrs – Chinese firm

Nigeria has the potentials to become Africa’s most industrialized nation in less than 10 years if the abundant human and natural resources readily available in the country are adequately harnessed.
This was the view of the Deputy Managing Director of Senoria FABCOM, Mr. Jackie Dai Hui, in a chat with journalists in Abuja, while unveiling the company’s product known as fibre cement board.
The company which has been in Nigeria for almost a decade is a recognized brand in the manufacture of stone coated roofing sheets, with its manufacturing facilities in Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory.
According to Mr. Jackie Hui, Senoria FABCOM is the only manufacturer of stone coated roofing tiles in the whole of West Africa, sourcing almost 70 per cent of its raw materials locally.
He noted that their investment in Nigeria is an eye opener as they have seen firsthand the huge potentials of Nigeria in terms of human and raw material resources.
“Nigeria is just about where China was about 20 years ago and like China; Nigeria can transform its fortunes in the next 10 -20 years to become not just an African giant, but a global giant,” he stated.
He noted that their massive investment in Nigeria is borne out of the belief in the future of Nigeria, saying “we see ourselves as partners with the Nigerian government and are here to stay and be partners in the growth and development of Nigeria.”
On their new product line, fibre cement board, he noted that it was part of the expansion plan of the company having established itself as a top brand in the manufacture of stone coated roofing sheets.
“It is an indication of our long term plans for Nigeria; we are not repatriating our profits home, but reinvesting here because we believe in Nigeria, this is just the beginning as more products in the building materials segment conglomerate are on the way,” he added.
Senoria FABCOM is an affiliate of the global Chinese company, Senoma responsible for the turnkey construction of over 80 per cent of the cement companies in Nigeria.
