Niger partners Nollywood for development of tourism, job creation

Niger state Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, has said his administration is committed to develop the entertainment industry in the state by partnering with the leadership of the Nollywood actors in Nigeria because of the capacity of the industry and the tourism sector to further create jobs for the state’s unemployed youths presently roaming the streets and for wealth creation.
He stated this at the 2017 Miss Niger state beauty contest and awards night organized by the Millennium Africa Entertainment company which was held at the U.K. Bello Arts and Theatre auditorium in Minna, the state capital,
Governor Sani Bello who was represented at the occasion by his Principal Private Secretary, Alhaji Adamu Aliyu, stated further that the state government has already signed a memorandum of understanding in the area of arts and culture with reputable investors from abroad adding that the group had since arrived in Nigeria and have commenced talks with his government on the need to develop both the Gurara Waterfalls , the Swashi Dam project and the other aspects of tourism developments in the state. .
“Niger state government has recognized the importance of entertainment industry and other industries that will help the state and the country to grow economically. We want to describe the awards night of the organizers of this events as historical, historical in the sense that Millennium Africa Entertainment Company has been in partnership in youth’s developments activities.
“They have carved niche for themselves in the development of Nigeria and Africa in general. The organization is credible and they have been in partnership with successive governments in Niger state in youth’s developments activities and they have found a space in the issue of development in Nigeria.
“So it is gratifying that some of our officials in the state government have been found worthy of this kind of initiatives and we give glory to almighty God .and we thank the initiators of this very event. And we assure them that the state government is in partnership with them to continue to do well in the development of the youths which is a cardinal objective and policy of this administration”, he declared.
He thereby advised the youths in the state to ensure that they get the right mentorship, as well as avoid drugs addiction and work hard to earn legitimate money, pointing out that the days when the youths were earning peanuts is over in Nigeria, just as he charged every law abiding citizens of the state especially youth and women groups to gear up to the reality of their situations.
