NICE elects new Chair

 

 

The Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers (NICE), has a new National Chairman.

He is Engr. Robbie James Owivry

 

His investiture took place at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Ikeja, Lagos.

 

The outgoing National Chairman, Engr. S.A Lawal, FNSE, FNICE, in his address, said that he had fulfilled the promises made before he was elected.

“With a deep sense of humility, I would like to state categorically that, I have been able to deliver substantially on all the promises that I made, on my honour when I took over has the 13th National Chairman, to the effect that I will take NICE to a new level; which I did.”

 

The guest lecturer, on the occasion, Engr. James O. Akanmu, spoke on the subject: “The Civil Engineers In Democratic Government: A Sine Qua Non for National Development.”

 

Owivry charged civil engineers to be a good ambassador of the institution.

Said he: “To my fellow civil engineers, always think of yourself as a good ambassador of the institution in your conducts. Civil engineers do not brag, but we rule the world, from the physical to the natural environment.”
