NBA Ikeja holds chairmanship bye-election on Friday

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ikeja will on Friday hold bye election to elect a new chairman for the branch.
The two candidates contesting for the post of the NBA chairman are Adesina Ogunlana, and Prince Dele Oloke.
The NBA, chairman caretaker committee, Mr. Ben Oji, made the anouncement on Wednesday during the manifesto held at the NBA office in Ikeja.
Oji said the election will take place from 10 am and appealed to members to come early and elect their chairman.
Speaking during the manifesto, Ogunlana said he stands by his manifesto during the election and that he will work to ensure a vibrant bar and the bench.
He also noted that he will neither increase fleet of vehicles of the secretariat nor will he expand on the present structure of the building housing the secretariat.
While reacting to questions on dearth of stamps for lawyers which has impeeded practice of some young lawyers, he said the branch few days ago received 600 stamps from the national office and that the branch will continue to interface with the NBA at the national level for the welfare of members.
“I am committed to working for the welfare of lawyers in the branch”, he said.
However, the second candidate, Prince Dele Oloke was absent at the manifesto.
