My most memorable experience as entrepreneur-Femi Aguda, CEO Block 22

After achieving success in Nigeria as an entrepreneur, Aguda Olufemi Michael has replicated his success in America with the founding of Block 22 Realty LLC in Chicago.

His feat has further reinforced the fact that a passionate business person can thrive anywhere in the world.

Femi Aguda (as he is better known) recently embarked on speaking engagements both to realtors in Nigeria and entrepreneurs where his talking points were on life experiences that shaped his entrepreneurial dispositions.

Speaking on how to balance work with family demands, financially and otherwise, he advised his audience to set their priorities.

“As there are only 24 hours in a day, you may have to think about your values and set some priorities based on those values. For example, if “being an involved parent” is a priority for you – setting aside time each night to play with your children might take priority over working those overtime hours to finance a bigger home,” he said.

He also advocated the imperative of negotiating with spouses. Said he: “Communication has been established as the life of any relationship, especially marriage. Communicating with your wife and letting her know your business and business commitment helps both of you plan together and vice-versa thereby ensuring that both achieve some level of work-life balance.”

Asked about his most memorable experience as a businessperson in America, Femi Aguda noted: “I have had several, but I think one of them was when in a month I sold more houses(value-wise) than what I sold in the whole year (2019). The experience was surreal and indeed a memorable one.”

Before founding his American business, Femi Aguda, an alumnus of FUTA, had co-founded Cokodeal limited (cokodeal.com) Africa’s eCommerce for locally produced export goods.
“Being an entrepreneur requires passion and that is my driving force,” he affirmed.
