Monarch admonishes subjects on peace, development

The traditional ruler of Aviara kingdom, Crown Prince, Harrison Uzuazomaro Emaviwe, Okoroze 1, the regent of Aviara kingdom has sued for peace among all his subjects in order to bring development in all communities under Aviara Clan.

Crown Prince Uzuazomaro stated this while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the first ever peace meeting in six years after the demise of late king Enaviwe 1, held at the Ovie of Aviara Palace, stressing that, the power tussle has deprived Aviara from being developed.

According to Prince Okoroze: “We all gathered to brainstorm on how we can move forward after several years of fighting over who rule our great kingdom. Now we all need to shield our sword and think of positive ways we can move our kingdom forward.

“We all know that, we are lacking behind in terms of development, hence I urged you all to bring positive ideas to develop our kingdom. During the tussle, some of our clan lands were encroached upon. We need to retain those lands and also revive some of our traditions which are already fading away.

“Our people need to focus more on agriculture to enable them feed themselves. All our lakes will be properly taken care of now. We have so many natural resources that can attract investors into our land and we will try and bring investors to come and invest in some of these natural resources.”

He added that, “we have resolved that all communities under Aviara should start paying their tax to Aviara Federated Union, which was stopped during the period of the tussle”, and also promised to contact all Aviara sons and daughters in government to draw government presence to the kingdom to enable his people feel the impact of government.

The meeting was attended by the President General of Isoko Development Union, (IDU), High Chief Iduh Amadhe, Chief J.O. Ulebe, Mr. Odize, Mr Uzih Ben, Palace Chiefs, the President General of Aviara Clan, Mr. Osima, some prominent members of the aggrieved factions and Chairmen of the various communities under Aviara clan.
