Man Escapes With Family After Surviving 4th Kidnap Attempts By Unknown Gunmen

Tragedy was averted when a man identified as Stephen Afamefuna Okoronkwo and his family narrowly escaped being kidnapped from their private residence in Anambra State on November 10th 2024.

It will be recalled that two separate kidnap attempts were made on the life of Stephen Afamefuna Okoronkwon and his family on July 27th and August 16th 2024 respectively but were unsuccessful as his assailants recently adopted more daring approach in the attack of November 10th 2024.

The private residence of Stephen Afamefuna Okoronkwo in Obiniikpa village in Ajallii in Orumba North local government area of Anambra State was said to have come under violent attack on November 10th 2024 by unknown gunmen who stormed his home in the middle of the night where they fired sporadic gunshots in an attempt to kidnap him with his family until they were overpowered by the superior firepower of local vigilantes in the neighbourhood who came to their rescue.

Stephen Afamefuna Okoronkwo and his family had miraculously survived 3 other violent kidnap attempts on their lives before the attack of November 10th 2024, it was confirmed.

However, the violent attack of November 10th 2024 started at about 11:45 pm at the private residence of Stephen Afamefuna Okoronkwo where one of his son known as Prudence while in panic during the attack sustained severe injuries on his ankle as the family frantically attempted to avoid being apprehended by the marauding unknown gunmen.

Stephen Afamefuna Okoronkwo as an active stakeholder in the politics of Anambra state and member of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in the state, had on several occasions come under severe and violent attacks in the past even with the implementation of tight and effective security measures at his residence.

The local vigilantes in the community were said to have urgently responded by coming to their rescue as they were said to have engaged the unknown gunmen in a fierce gun-battle, it was gathered.

The criminal activities of unknown gunmen in the Eastern part of Nigeria in recent times have continued to increase on a daily basis as this remain a source of major concern for several individuals and businesses owners who continue to come under violent attacks by unknown gunmen which often times leads to casualties as their mode of operations now defy every proactive measures aimed at checkmating the criminalities of these groups.

However for Stephen Afamefuna Okoronkwo and his family who after surviving the fourth kidnap attempts on their lives and coming out unhurt, their assailants who are members of the unknown gunmen in community are more emboldened to launch a more fiercely dangerous and coordinated attacks on the family in their efforts to achieve their sinister motive .

Meanwhile, at the time of filing this report, the private residence of Stephen Afamefuna Okoronkwo family in Anambra State had been deserted as it was confirmed that they had fled from the community over fears of another attacks on their lives as their immediate whereabouts however remain unknown to anyone in the community .
