LG poll: APC chieftain alleges plan to impose candidate in L/Island

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos Island, Alhaji Adisa Balogun, has called on the leadership of the party to restrain from imposing candidates on the people of the area especially in the forth-coming council chairmanship election.
Balogun said that the call become necessary ahead of the scheduled stakeholders meeting billed for Ikejatoday. He urged the leadership of the party in the state to allow the wishes of the people of the council to prevail as democracy demands.
He maintained that there was a rumour making the rounds that there were plans to impose a particular aspirant on the people of the area.
He said that the said party leadership are rumoured to be lobbying the national leader of the APC, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu to accept the said aspirant against the wish of the majority.
Balogun, however, urged Asiwaju Tinubu and other leaders to disregard reject the said call to impose the candidate.
