The League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents (LAAC), an association of journalists covering the aviation industry in Nigeria has concluded arrangements to bring together stakeholders at its 27th annual conference to brainstorm on the changing times in the sector and suggest strategies to survive at critical times
The conference with the theme, ‘Aviation Industry: Changing Tines, Changing Strategies’ is scheduled to hold on on July 27,2023, at Providence Hotel, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos

The programme, according to him, will feature presentations by speakers and a panel session to address issues bedeviling the sector in line with the theme.
He hinted that at this year’s conference over 250 aviation industry professionals cutting across the aviation agencies, security agencies, international and domestic airlines operating in Nigeria, aviation support services, travel trade sellers and buyers in Nigeria’s aviation industry are expected to participate in this conference.
He added that many key players in the sector have already confirmed their participation in this all important conference.
The key players according to Chiedu include: the Director General, Nigeria Safety Investigation Bureau(NSIB), Engr. Akin Olateru, the Director General of Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) Capt. Musa Nuhu, the Director General of Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET), Prof. Matazu, the Acting Managing Director of Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Mr. Lawrence Matthew Pwajok, President of Aviation Safety Round Table Initiative, Dr. Gabriel Olowo and Group Managing Director of Finchglow Travels, who also chairs the Association of Aviation Training Organisations (AATOs) in Nigeria, Mr. Bernard Bankole.

Hamisu Yadudu, Chairman, Air Peace Limited, Barrister Allen Onyema, Chairman, United Nigeria Airlines, Dr. Obiora Okonkwo, amongst others.
LAAC is Nigeria’s aviation media umbrella body saddled with the responsibility of ensuring effective media coverage and practice in the aviation industry and the LAAC Annual Conference has over the years, made an unquantifiable impact on Nigeria’s aviation sector by throwing up policy, management and operational issues for public discussion.
This has resulted in tremendously significant evidential changes in Nigeria’s aviation sector.
Aviation and allied business organisations have equally taken advantage of sponsorship opportunities presented by this event to sell their products and services, as this 2023 edition presents yet another opportunity.
On participation, the Secretary Conference Planning Committee said, “There shall be both physical and virtual participation in the conference to enable participation of stakeholders from across the world.”
“Individuals and organisations that have distinguished themselves in the industry on performance shall equally be honoured with Awards at the LAAC Awards of Excellence segment,” he added.
