Kwara: Voters’ remain undaunted despite heavy security deployment -Baraje

Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Abubakar Kawau Baraje has expressed delight over large turnout of voters respite heavy military deployment to the state. He however called for immediate release of the PDP senatorial candidate for Kwara south who is being held by the police following recent violence that broke out in Ojoku last Tuesday. Baraje spoke with reporters shortly after he cast his votes at his Odemagaji Bababoko pulling unit in Ilorin with his wife. “Voters remain undaunted despite the battery of security agents to the state the turnout is very impressive, that is an indication that the voters cannot be intimidated”, he said. He however expressed disappointment that voting commenced behind scheduled with cases of mix up of electoral materials “There are lots of complaints of card readers malfunctioning, election materials taken from one local government to another in spite the postponement,” he said.
