The unabated threat to security of lives and properties in the country has been blamed on lack of sensitivity by the leadership to the plight of the common man.

Lamenting the incessant of killings as a result of terrorism, banditry, insurgency and high scale kidnapping in the country, the Presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Prince Adewole Adebayo said the leadership should be held responsible.

He categorically said that there is no fear of God 8n the leadership cadre, hence, subjecting the nation to all sorts of mystical proclamation.

The dejectedly said until there is honest and purposeful leadership ,the country might just still continue grappling with almost the challenges it is presently facing.

Prince Adebayo and his running mate, alongside SDP executive and loyal party members on Tuesday visited the President of the Christians Association of Nigeria, CAN, Reverend (Dr) Samson Ayokunle where he spoke on the worrisome state of insecurity in the country.

He bemoaned the tolling effect on insecurity on virtually every sector of Nigeria’s national life, including education.

The presidential hopeful recalled that the Federal Ministry of Education, Alhaji
Adamu Adamu, had a few days ago, ordered the immediate closure of the Federal Government College, Kwali, in the federal capital territory (FCT) over security threats.

Adebayo said “before the schools were shut down, the first thing that was shut down was the presidency. The presidency has been shut down for the past seven years. The government has shut itself down.

“We need to be serious and do the work. We need our people in insecurity to pay attention, we need the president to protect us and be the Commander in Chief”.

He stressed that only the person with capacity and capability can bring the country out of the woods.

His words, “All the problems, the latest of which is banditry, our debt servicing is bigger than our income is all arising from the deficit of our dishonesty that we are not honest people, that when we are given authority to exercise, we don’t do it honestly, DailyTimesNGR gathered.

“If we change our ways, God’s blessing will be upon us. There is no mystery about leadership in Nigeria. It is just that the right leader must come with the right heart, with the right people”, he stated.

Responding, the CAN President, Reverend (Dr) Ayokunle, said it pertinent for Nigerians to elect the right leader in 2023 who will turn the fortune of the country around and make Nigeria work better.

Rev. Ayokunle said “there is need to elect the right person who will make Nigeria work better and transform her fortunes for the benefit of all.

“We need as many people as God has touched to contest for the presidency so that people have ample opportunities to chose from”, he declared.
