HAJJ 2017: Director charges FCT pilgrims on good conduct

The newly appointed acting Director of the FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Shehu Abubakar, has charged intending 2017 pilgrims at the holy land to be weary of acts capable of tarnishing the image of the country as the federal government, is bent on unleashing the full scale punishment on such characters.

The Director said that his administration will be committed to add more value to the management of pilgrims and provide first class services to the FCT pilgrims by ensuring hitch free exercises.

He emphasized that the early commencement of sales of forms to this year’s intending pilgrims was to improve from the last years’ experience to record more successes in this year’s hajj operation.

Alhaji Abubakar, while charging the staff of the Federal Capital Territory, warned that honest and diligence to duty should be the watch word in the discharge of their duties.

He however, called for the cooperation all staff and other stakeholders to ensure the success of the 2017 hajj exercise in line with the desire of the present Administration.

He stressed the need for the staff to be dedicated to their duty and abide by rules and regulations of the service, adding that the Administration would not condone any act of corruption and indiscipline.

The new Director, Alhaji Shehu Abubakar who is to serves on acting capacity replaces the former Director of the Board, Mallam Muhammad Ba hir who proceed on training at National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) Kuru, Jos Plateau state for one year.

Until his appointment Alhaji Shehu Abubakar was the Deputy Director, Operations in the Board.

An indigine of Bida Local Government of Niger state, he joined the services of the FCTA on transfer from Niger State Civil Service in the year 2011 and promoted to the rank of Deputy Director in 2013.
