Gunmen Kidnap Niger Deputy Gov’s Brother

The younger brother of Niger State deputy governor, Malam Ayuba Ibeto, has been kidnapped.

He was reportedly kidnapped by a six-man armed gang on Friday night in the family house of the deputy governor in Ibeto, Magama Local Government Area of the state.

It was gathered that the armed men had the mother of the victim with his telephone demanding an undisclosed ransom.

Meanwhile, police spokesperson in the state, DSP Ibrahim Gambari said the police was not aware of the incident.

But, the Chief Press Secretary to the deputy governor, Bala Bitrus confirmed the incident.

He was unable to ascertain whether the kidnap was politically motivated as the details of the incident was still sketchy.
