Gunmen Attack Wedding in Isiala Mbano, Abduct Guest and Wife

What was meant to be a joyful occasion turned into tragedy in Isiala Mbano, Imo State, after unknown gunmen invaded the wedding of popular businessman, Chief Ifeanyi Azubuike.

Eyewitnesses reported that the attackers opened fire on guests, destroying several vehicles and leaving many people injured. Amid the chaos, a wedding guest, Mr. Promise Uche, was abducted along with his wife. Their whereabouts remain unknown at press time.

The celebrant, Chief Azubuike, whose wedding was disrupted, declined to grant interviews.

The traditional ruler of Isiala Mbano, Chief Chukwudi Ogbonna, confirmed the incident and lamented the worsening security situation in the state. He said it was deeply troubling that such an abduction could take place on a day meant for celebration.

Imo State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Henry Okoye, also confirmed the attack. He assured residents that investigations have commenced and vowed that those behind the crime will be arrested and prosecute
