Four students escape death as two-storey collapsed in Ilorin

Four secondary school students in Ilorin metropolis narrowly escaped death, on Wednesday, when a two-storey building collapsed on them.
The Daily Times gathered that one of their teachers, Mr. Muritala Obalowu, had brought them to the building site to carry concrete blocks when the building located at Opeyemi Street, Saw Mill area, collapsed at about 9:00 am.
Sources said that students were usually brought to the building site as a form of punishment.
It was also gathered that the teacher, said to be a son of the owner of the house, was in the habit of taking the students to the building site for menial jobs.
The sources also said that the students, who were frightened due to the incidents, were quickly taken to the building next to the collapsed one building where water was poured on them.
It was also gathered that the teacher was also said to have sneaked the four male students though the back door of the building where they were allegedly kept from enraged members of the public.
