The press statement which emphasised that farming on roadsides and designated open spaces posed serious threats to public safety, added that the practice also obstructs drainage systems, defaced the urban landscape, and contributed to environmental degradation.

The statement cautioned residents to refrain from cultivating crops or engaging in any form of farming on public road setbacks, medians, green areas, and other open spaces intended for beautification and urban development purposes.
