Enugu Rangers game not a revenge mission, says Rivers United’s Stanley Eguma

The Pride of Rivers boss will prioritize concentrating on developing his team ahead of the new campaign than trying to get one over their rivals
Both sides last met in a league match on September 4 but Eguma’s team were at the receiving end of a 4-0 defeat from the eventual champions.
And with the 2016/17 domestic season in view, the former Dolphins boss has calmed talks of a revenge mission ahead of the tie against the Flying Antelopes at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium later today.
“The main thing about this tournament is to ascertain the level of preparedness of players in the squad,” Eguma told club website.
“The team that Rangers beat 4-0 is quite different from our current team.
“There are some new players in the team now, the tactics are different and the general orientation is completely different.
“The outcome of the game is really unimportant as our main focus is to see if the new players are responding to our philosophy,” he concluded.
