Ekweremadu’s attack in Germany is embarrassing- Madumere

Senator Ike Ekweremadu’s attack by some of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, in far away Nuremberg, Germany have continued to sprout angry reactions from Nigerians.
The immediate past Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere, speaking through his media aide, Mr Uche Onwuchekwa, has described the scenario as a “vexatious and embarrassing” event.
According to Madumere, “the attack on Senator Ike Ekweremadu is highly embarrassing, vexatious and uncalled for. There are other several means through which any misunderstood actions or inaction of public office holders can be addressed,” .
He, however, considered the said convention in Nuremberg, as a veritable platform to address whatever issue that they may have been agitating their minds.
The former deputy governor stated that “dialogue remains the best means of resolving any grievances or conflicts, instead of the public shame at international grounds.”
In addition, Prince Madumere noted that “if the Igbo should treat their own leaders with such indifference and levity, it will be foolhardy for such people to expect others to respect their personalities and opinions.”
He also advised Senator Ekweremadu to consider the unfortunate incident as one of the challenges of leadership and also suggested a periodic congress of the Igbo to discuss and review issues as they affect the people.
