The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, August 21 and Wednesday, August 22, as public holidays for the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir.
Eid al-Adha, also called the “Festival of Sacrifice,” is the second of two Islamic holidays celebrated worldwide each year, and considered the holier of the two.
The Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, announced the decision in a statement made available on Thursday by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mohammed Umar.
The minister also wished Nigerians a happy Eid-el-Kabir celebration and urged them to embrace the virtues of love and sacrifice for the unity and development of the country.
The minister also called on Nigerians to support the Federal Government as it is determined to foster peace and unity in the country.
