Edo Guber: APC Appeal Committee submits report, declines to reveal content

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Appeal Committee inaugurated to look into controversies surrounding the governorship primaries won by Godwin Obaseki has submitted its report to the party.
The Appeal Committee led by Hon. Opeyemi Bamidele in submitting the report to the party National Chairman, Chief John Odigie Oyegun at the party secretariat on Wednesday however, declined to reveal the outcome of the report.
Two aggrieved aspirants, Kenneth Imasuagbon and Chris Ogienwonyi had appealed the conduct of the primary which returned Obaseki as winner of the primary, alleging many irregularities and manipulation in the process.
Bamidele said: “as to the content of our report and the conclusion drawn and recommendations, you’ll hear further from the party, I am not in position to speak on that”, he said.
He maintained that the committee was free and fair, and did justice to all the petitions received saying all the petitioners were given opportunities to bring their agents and lawyers to make their presentations.
Responding, National Chairman of the party, John Odigie-Oyegun commended the committee for a job well done saying: “I am pleased with the thorough job done by members of the committee; I hope the report presented by the committee will enable the party lay to rest all issues raised out of the primary exercise”.
