Disputed Family Land : Man Allegedly Sends Kidnappers After Nephew As Plot To Kill Thickens

Tension over the ownership of a disputed family land in Benin City heightened recently again as kidnappers on the trail of the embattled Okotor Emmanuel Oseiwe narrowly missed an opportunity to abduct him in a remote community in Abuja after several gunshots were fired on April 28th 2022.

Prior to the failed kidnap attempt of April 28th 2022, Okotor Emmanuel Oseiwe received several death threats messages and calls which were reported at the police station for immediate action as the police however assured that investigation into the case would be carried out while threats still continued, it was confirmed.

The family of Okotor has since been plunged into a protracted land dispute shortly after the sudden demise of Okotor Francis, father of Okotor Emmanuel Oseiwe, who passed on March 20th 2021 after a brief illness.

Confirmed report however revealed that frantic efforts by elders of the family led by Okotor Samuel to resolve this lingering crisis over the ownership of a large arable parcel of land left behind by the deceased to his first son Okotor Emmanuel Oseiwe met with strong opposition from Okotor James, his father’s immediate younger brother.

It was gathered that Okotor James earlier warned his nephew to either stay away from the parcel of land or incur his wrath even after it was agreed upon following an attempted resolution of the lingering crisis over the disputed family land that it rightfully belongs to the first son of the deceased Okotor Emmanuel Oseiwe.

A member of the Okotor family who craved anonymity disclosed that Okotor James, a prominent member of an extremely dangerous occult group known as the Reformed Ogboni Fraternity, had on several occasions sent thugs after his nephew as part of desperate measure to stop him from having access to the land.

Meanwhile on February 8th 2022, thugs acting on the orders of his uncle attacked Okotor Emmanuel Oseiwe on the disputed farmland while working with one Sunday a labourer whose service was hired to help cultivate the soil for crop production, it was confirmed.

However for the timely intervention of local vigilante in the community called upon by Sunday who managed to escape from the farmland during the attack, Okotor Emmanuel who was viciously beaten into coma was rescued and later hospitalized.

Our correspondent gathered that concerted efforts by Okotor Emmanuel Oseiwe to also sell-off the disputed farmland in view of the growing pressure met with strong resistance as Mr.Udo, a land agent and a prospective buyer were violently attacked during an inspection of the arable farmland in April 202.

Again in April 2022 his life came under vicious attack after relocating to an undisclosed location in Abuja where he was almost kidnapped by some unknown gunmen at a bus terminal when a car pulled over and the occupants ordered him into the waiting car .

It was said that he narrowly escaped death by the whiskers when he immediately escaped from the sight of the kidnappers by running away immediately as they fiired gunshots aimlessly at him.

As the concerns over the safety and well-being of the embattled Okotor Emmanuel Oseiwe continues to revolve daily around growing death threats from faceless individuals, there are strong indications that the ongoing rift over the ownership of the unresolved land dispute involving him and his uncle would in no time end up claim its first casualty as the whereabouts of Okotor Emmanuel Oseiwe however remained unknown to anyone in the community.
