Cultural icon celebrates Egbe Osun and Ifa festival

One of the female pioneers and advocates of traditional cultural practices in Nigeria, Chief (Mrs.) Osunnike Olosunde Ewenla, celebrates 2017 Egbe Osun festival from October 23, 2017.
Madam Osunnike Ewenla, the Chief Priest of Ijo Egbe Gbemi Ifa Orisha parapo, also Iya Oosa of Amikanle is a multi-talented woman also vast in cultural practices.
Speaking with journalists recently at her residence, she advised Nigerians to retrace their steps to the good old cultural practices for modernity.
”My advice to Nigerians is to go back to our practices so that the country will not get worse. We must make sure the country did not get worse before we fix it.
We need to go back to our deities and accord them their due recognition in order to find lasting solution to the myriad of problems facing the country.
Speaking further, Iya Oosa also advocated for traditional way to serve as alternative to oath of office for Nigerian politicians, even in courts.
Public office holders know that if they swear by any deity it will require them to live by the truth. They know our deities don’t tolerate lies and deceits.
Madam Osunnike also appealed to Nigerian leaders both at federal and state levels to approve August 20 as Public Holiday to celebrate ISESE.
Chief (Mrs.) Olosunde Ewenla hails from Ota in Ogun State and has championed remarkable development towards the growth of traditional practices in Nigeria and overseas. She has received many accolades for her integrity and innovation.
The programme for the 2017 Ifa/Osun festivals includes worshipping of Ogun, Esu, Osun, Ifa, Obatala, Alaragbo, etc.
Meanwhile the 2017 Adult Harvest of Celestial Church of Christ, Idunnu Joshua Parish holds on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at the church’s auditorium.
According to the Shepherd in charge, Prophet (Dr.) Abraham Oyebanji (J.P.) while speaking with journalists invites the general public to come and rejoice with him.
Many activities were lined up for the Adult Harvest.
