Court Sentences Man For Stealing Pepper-Soup?

What could have pushed a grownup man into stealing pepper soup from a woman’s fridge? Hunger?
In this case, Ameh Abah stole pepper-soup worth a whopping 25,000 naira!
Definitely not hunger because a bowl of the delicacy would have been enough to satisfy a man even if he had been hungry for weeks.
Eneh Aboje of U.K Bar, Durumi, Abuja, had kept her fish and meat pepper-soup valued at N25, 000 in the fridge and by Thursday July 13, the entire soup had disappeared.
She reported the matter at Durumi Police Station on July 15 and the suspect was arrested.
He appeared before a Gudu Upper Area Court on Thursday where the prosecutor, Fidelix Ogbobe, narrated the incident.
Abah had no explanation for his act. He pleaded guilty and begged for leniency.
The judge, Alhaji Umar Kagarko, sentenced him to be given four strokes of the cane for stealing and also ordered him to clean the court’s surroundings and warned him to desist from committing crime.
The question unanswered is what was Ameh planning to do with 25,000 naira pepper-soup? Sell it?
