Conjoined Twins Born With Two Heads, Four Hands And Two Legs & Dumped By Parents

Parents abandoned their conjoined twins at the Dhaka Medical College. The identity of the parents is still unknown and the birth was not registered.

The Deputy Director of the hospital described the twins as having two heads, four arms and hands and they share two legs. The twins were born in an undisclosed clinic and were dumped at the hospital on Friday night.

Conjoined twins are extremely rare and the survival rate is extremely low. The twins share organs which are not adequate to supply two bodies and the internal deformities can impair organ function. This results in one or both of the twins dying as a result of complications.

This may have been the reason the twins were abandoned by the parents. In developed countries where prenatal medical care is more accessible and available the diagnosis of conjoined twins is far higher.
