Burna Boy’s new “Twice As Tall” album just made music twice as good

Burna Boy (real name Danimi Ogulu) dropped his highly-anticipated fifth studio album, “Twice As Tall”, in the early hours of Friday, August 14, 2020. This comes on the tails of his Grammy-nominated album, “African Giant”, “Outside”, “On a Spaceship” and L.I.F.E (Leaving an Impact For Eternity).
Following his Grammy loss to Angelique Kidjo, the “Anybody” singer said: “So now I’m ‘Twice as Tall’. That’s the name of my next album, by the way, dropping in July by the grace of the Most High.”
However, as Daily Times reports, the artist failed to meet the schedule for the album release.
Five days ago, the self-acclaimed African Giant teased the release of his latest album by sharing the official track-list.

While sharing this album artwork Burna said: “I wanted the art to speak for itself. This album was a journey through a bunch of emotions and energies at different points in time. It has now morphed into something bigger than me. It serves as a bridge for mankind to show that we’re all different but still very much the same.
“I’m grateful for the unreal talents that came together from ALL over the world to pull this off. Shout out to the OG @diddy for coming on board and sprinkling his own unique spice on this! I hope I’m able to spark something in you when you listen.”
In the middle of the night, the Afrofusion singer announced the release of his new album on his official social media pages. It is available on streaming services Spotify, YouTube, SoundCloud, Amazon Music, Tidal, Pandora, iTunes and Deezer.

Within an hour of its release, the album recorded five million streams and generated rave reviews.
The 15-track album packs a total 53-minute playtime. “Twice As Tall” features top artistes including Diddy, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Senegalese icon Youssou N’Dour, Kenyan Afropop band Sauti Sol, British grime rapper Stormzy and American hip hop trio Naughty by Nature. Expect to hear thrilling Afrofusion tracks including pre-released hit song “Wonderful”.
Recorded mainly in Lagos, Nigeria, the album was executively produced by Diddy, Burna Boy and Bosede Ogulu (Mama Burna). It also has productions by Timbaland, Mike Dean, Telz, Rexxie and Leriq.
Diddy took to Twitter to congratulate Burna Boy on the release of his new album, “Twice As Tall”.
Speaking on the album, Diddy, who has worked with the likes of Mary J Blige, Jay-Z, Usher and the late The Notorious B.I.G. said: “I’m on record that I like hit records. If they’re not hit records, I don’t like them.
“[Burna Boy], like every artist, wants his music to be heard by the world. He doesn’t care about crossing over. You know, he’s not trying to get hot. He’s not, like, ‘I want to be a big pop star’ — he’s already a star. He wants his music to be heard, his message, his people.”
