BREAKING: Rivers state commissioner of police is dead
There is a report that Rivers State Police Commissioner Francis Bolaji Odesanya is dead.
Mr Odesanya was said to have died on Tuesday, January 31 morning at an unnamed hospital outside Nigeria after a brief illness.
Sources close to the police command disclosed that he passed on at the age of 56 years after a brief illness at Sterling Hospital Ahmedabad-Gujarat in India.
Mr. Adesanya who was Deputy Commissioner of Police Department of Operations and that of Finance and Administration in the state police command before he was transferred out of the state, was returned to the State in July, 2016, as the 37th police commissioner to take over from Foluso Adebanjo, the current Deputy Inspector General of Police.
Late Commissioner Adesanya was enlisted into the Force on February 1, 1986, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police from where he rose to his last position.
He hailed from Ikenne Town, Ogun State. The Command had not officially announced his demise at press time.
