Breaking: Dr. Osagie briefs Buhari on Nigeria’s fight against COVID19

Dr. Osagie Emmanuel Ehanire Minister of Health and Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu Director General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control are currently briefing President Muhammadu Buhari on how far the country has gone in the fight against the deadly Coronavirus that has ravaged the world.

According to President Buhari’s aide on Social Media Bashir Ahmad he said that President Buhari is receiving briefings from Minister of Health and Director-General of @NCDCgov on Nigeria’s fight against #COVID19 pandemic at his residence, Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Recalled that two positive new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) was uncovered in Enugu State and the total number of those with COVID-19 in Nigeria has now resin to eighty one.

The NCDC said that 11 new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria: 8 in Lagos, 2 in Enugu & 1 in Edo State As at 11:55pm 27th March, there are 81 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. 3 have been discharged with 1 death.

Dr Ifeanyi Agujiobi, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, said that “It is important to inform the public that the patients voluntarily contacted the Enugu State Ministry of Health on arrival from United Kingdom (UK) and requested for the COVID-19 test which came out positive.

“So far, the patients have remained in isolation and the Enugu State Multi Sectoral Rapid Response Team has commenced contact tracing.

The Health minister on Friday enjoined Nigerians d to adhere to government directives and follow the recommendations of washing their hands, coughing into elbows & observing social distancing’.
