Bida Poly suspends lecturer for raping student

The Federal Polytechnic, Bida, has suspended a lecturer in the Department of Public Administration for raping a student in the department.

Daily Times investigation revealed that sources in the polytechnic refused to give the full details of the incident but only admitted that the lecturer was caught in the act of raping the student.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the state, Bala Elkana, confirmed the incident, adding that the culprit would remain in police detention until the investigation is concluded.

Elkana said the victim was receiving treatment at the school medical centre.

Also the Public Relations Officer of the polytechnic, Alhaji Hussaini Enagi, said that the staff involved was a senior staff of the institution.
