APC organises prayers for late members in Kwara

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Isin, Ekiti, Irepodun and Oke-Ero Local Government Areas of Kwara, has organised a special prayer session for members that lost their lives during a recent road accident. The prayer which was led by the Chief of Omu-Aran, Alhaji Sodiq Afolayan, took place at the resident of Hon. Tunji Olawuyi, representing Isin, Ekiti, Irepodun and Oke-Ero federal constituency in Omu-Aran, Kwara State on Saturday. Alhaji Afolayan who prayed fervently for the repose of those who lost their lives in an unfortunate accident while they are travelling to join the victory rally of Hon. Olawuyi, who won the Nov. 17th vacant seat at the green chamber, asked the families to accept the incident as a will of God. The Islamic scholar, advised Hon. Olawuyi, to ensure that he laid legacies that the people of his constituents will never forget. Alhaji Afolayan who reminded the people at the prayers what late Funke Adedoyin, did for the Omu-Aran community, prayed that God grant her eternal rest. Later in his address, Hon. Olawuyi, who described as unfortunate the death of the members, said he ventured into politics to assist the people of the community. “I give glory to Allah for what he has done for me, I went into politics because I can’t say because I’m comfortable, I don’t care about others. “We must ensure that our people do not suffer, we will ensure that we give to you what belong to you. “Let me tell you, all of you will not benefit what you have all worked for at the same time, it will be the turn of some of you now and the turn of others tomorrow. “I am sure that you all still remember how long I have been in politics before God granted us this victory. “The victory at the Nov. 17th bye-election is for you, you all worked for it and I pray that you will reap where you have sew” Olawuyi said. He however, told newsmen after the event that the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) description of the Federal Government’s pet project “TradersMoni” as vote buying as baseless. “We all agree to do this project before they left our party, why is it now a vote buying. “This is a project that does not discriminate, party affiliation was not considered while the money was been distributed” Olawuyi added. He thanked the people of his constituents for their support during the bye-election on Nov. 17 and asked them to double their effort during the 2019 general elections. Olawuyi announced that his campaign for his reelection will begin officially on Sunday, Dec. 9, in Omu-Aran, the headquarters of Irepodun Local Government area of the state. It would be recalled that no fewer than two persons lost their lives in an accident that occurred between Eleyin and Oke-onigbin around 6 p.m on Sunday, Nov. 18. The incident occurred when they were coming to join other party members in Oro for the party’s victory rally but met them on their way back to Omu-Aran, so they had to turn back. It was a head-on-collision while the incoming vehicle tried to overtake a Trailer. Those who died include Arandun Women leader, Segun Adewara, and Femi Olaye. Kehinde Akinpelu, Ilorin
