Anambra to commence promotion exercise for workers

Anambra State Government has announced plans to commence promotion exercise for workers in the State Civil Service next year.

Governor Willie Obiano announced this during a Holy Mass at Holy Trinity Parish, Awada, Onitsha.

Governor Obiano regretted that workers in the state had not been promoted as they should be in the recent past and revealed that plans have been concluded for the promotion exercise to commence next year.

The governor who noted that the initiative is part of his administration’s comprehensive welfare package for workers in the state, said in addition, the workers would receive their leave allowance as well as a bag of rice each as Christmas largesse before Christmas.

He restated the commitment of his government towards the fight against crime and criminality by going after their command and control centers, adding that more security personnel have been deployed to ensure safety of lives and property in the state especially in yuletide season.

The Governor reassured that Anambra would always remain first in promoting the welfare of the people, adding his recent stimulus package was aimed at ameliorating the sufferings of indigent people, especially in the present economic recession.
