Amanfor reveals he snubbed elite clubs for Enugu Rangers

The striker who helped Enugu Rangers clinch the league title revealed how he was chased by other top NPFL clubs before the season started

Chimezie Amanfor has revealed he snubbed three Nigeria Professional Football League clubs to join Enugu Rangers because of his desire for more adventure.

Amanfor joined Rangers in 2015 after completing his stint at Enyimba FC where he won the Federation Cup and the NPFL title.

The decision paid off as the forward was part of the history making Rangers team that emerged champions of the 2016 top flight campaign in Nigeria.

“I had all the chance to join big sides after my contract with Enyimba expired but I chose Rangers because this is where I want to be,”

“If you ask most kids which team they would like to play for, quite a number of them would say Rangers because of their size and history.

“I had the chance to play for the club and we won the league title after 32 years.”
