The Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Maikalangu, has commended President Bola Tinubu’s approval for the establishment of a Federal Polytechnic in Gwarinpa, Abuja
Gwarinpa is a popular area under AMAC in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The commendation was contained in a press statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media and Public Affairs, Hon. Kingsley Madaki.
Maikalangu also thanked the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, for the role he played in making the dreams of FCT residents a reality.
He said the approval for the establishment of the Federal Polytechnic in Gwarinpa wouldn’t have seen the light of the day without the relentless effort of Wike, to make the FCT the envy of other cities across the world.

Maikalangu said the establishment of the Federal Polytechnic in Gwarinpa is a dream come true and will add to the progress of FCT residents, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President Bola Tinubu-led administration.
He said the establishment of a Federal Polytechnic in Gwarinpa will greatly add to the joy of the indigenous people of the FCT.
Maikalangu recalled that, for the first time in history, an FCT native, Hon. Zaphaniah Bitrus Jisalo, who served as a two-term member representing AMAC/Bwari Constituency in the House of Representatives, was appointed to be one of Federal Executive Council (FEC) members as the Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs.
“I am indeed very happy with the magnanimity of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Since he assumed office, the indigenous people of FCT have been enjoying dividends of democracy in different forms, something hitherto unheralded about 33 years ago.
“Mr President kick-started things by appointing a son of the soil, Hon. Zaphaniah Bitrus Jisalo, as the Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, the first of its kind, something we have not witnessed since the creation of the FCT.
“I am particularly grateful to my mentor, Barrister Nyesom Wike, Mr Projects, for making it possible for us to enjoy dividends of democracy under the present administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We have not had it this good before as Mr Projects has given a facelift to the FCT and also being a source of joy to my people in AMAC.
“In fact, the latest approval by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the establishment of a Federal Polytechnic in Gwarinpa, an area known for education, is a great step and a sign of dividends of democracy in action and in demonstration of FCT inclusivity in democracy.
“We really appreciate Mr President for giving us Barrister Nyesom Wike as FCT Minister. He has tirelessly impacted the lives of our people positively and transformed the entire FCT completely. The records are there as he has been carrying out different projects for the development of the FCT. You can see that the roads are freer now because of the road projects he has scattered all over the FCT.
“We at AMAC will continue to give Mr. President and the FCT Minister, our massive support and encouragement to succeed further. We are grateful for all the dividends of democracy even as we look forward to more interventions by the President and the FCT Minister, in whom we are well pleased.” He said
