AGN: Your reputation is worse than Covid 19, Dokubo, Henshaw, others react to Abbo’s selection as patron
Following the appointment of Senator Elisha Abbo as the new patron of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Veteran Nollywood actress, Hilda Dokubo has said that the reputation of the senator does not qualify him to be a patron, saying that it is worse than the current pandemic disease, convid19.
Releasing a video on her Instagram page, Dokubo described the appointment of Abbo as “disgusting” and a mockery of every positive value that the guild stands for.
Senator Abbo represents the Adamawa North Senatorial District in Adamawa State at the Nigerian 9th National Assembly was appointed by the AGN’s president Emeka Rollas.
This reaction is as a result of the senator’s misconduct in July 2019, where he was caught in a CCTV footage that surfaced on social media, assaulting a female staff of a sex toy shop in Abuja.

Also reacting to this, Kate Henshaw, lamented that the senator is not worthy to be the patron of an organisation that holds ample number of women membership.
She said, ” we have women in this guild and we do not want to be slapped.”
Emeka Rollas,the president of the AGN, in an interview with Plus TV, defended Abbo’s appointment.
He said that a panel was set up at the senate to penalise Abbo over the issue and that who is the AGN to get robed in such cases.
He also said that the senator apologized for his act of violence against the lady and that the lady has not said that his apology was not accepted.
Rollas expressed displeasure at how Dakubo handled the matter and he said that she claims to be a member of the guild but she did not write a letter or call to air her grievances but that she made a video on social media just to draw attention to herself.
Rollas also spoke on how grand patrons were appointed based on the impact they have had on the guild and in the zones they are representing.
