AGF assures of high standards at Federal Treasury Academy

Accountant-General of the Federation Mr. Ahmed Idris has pledged to raise the bar on the quality of academic programmes being offered as well as the state of infrastructure at the Federal Treasury Academy, Orozo Abuja.

Mr. Idris gave the assurance recently when he led the members of Governing Board of the institution on a familiarization tour.

The visit was to acquaint the members with the state of affairs in the school and the progress being made by the Account-General to reposition the school as a centre of academic excellence in providing public finance education in Nigeria.

While expressing delight with the level of work achieved in the renovation of the hostels and classroom blocks, as well as the dedication and commitment of the management and Staff, the AGF assured that Government will do its best within the limits of the available resources to uplift the status of the institution to make it more attractive to both public and private organisations.

He however, urged the management to further look inward in view of the current economic challenges facing the nation and come up with more innovative ways of addressing some of the challenges facing the institution such as poor funding dilapidated structures.

Idris therefore, tasked the management of the institution to do their best to ensure that facilities already provided are properly managed and adequately maintained.

Earlier, the Acting Director of the Academy, Mr. Egbokhale Charity Kadiri, expressed the appreciation of the management and Staff of the Academy to the AGF and the Board members for their commitment to the School and pledged the management’s continued cooperation and commitment to the Academy in order to take it to new heights.

Mr. Kadiri was particularly grateful to the Accountant-General of the Federation for the phenomenal transformation that the Academy has witnessed since his assumption of office, which according to him has changed the school from a place of obscurity adorned with dilapidated structures to a place of fame with modern facilities and structures.

On their part, members of the Governing Board commended the Accountant-General for the bold initiatives taken so far in addressing the infrastructural challenges of the Academy and also praised the management of the Academy for ensuring that good standards is maintained.

In a related development, the AGF has paid a condolence visit to the family of late Mr. Aminu Angwai, a staff of the FTA Orozo who passed away some time in a motor accident.

Represented by the Director Administration, Alhaji Sule Alhassan, the Accountant-General of the Federation, condoled with family on the demise of their father, describing him as a committed and responsible staff and pledged the continued support of the OAGF to the family.

Receiving the AGF and his team, wife of the late Aminu, Mrs. Amina Danlandi Agwai, thanked the AGF for the visit and the support they received since the demise of her husband.
