Agbo counts on new signings to save Granada
Nigeria midfielder Uche Agbo has said he believes the several new signings by his La Liga club Granada CF will ensure they stay up again this season.
Granada are second from bottom of La Liga table with 10 points from 19 matches and their woes were compounded on Saturday when they lost 3-1 at Espanyol.
However, Agbo has said he believes his club will stage a fight back in the second half of the season so as they stay up in the Spanish top flight.
“It has been several weeks of disappointment for us, but I hope that the quality players my club bought during the January transfer window will do well to help us escape relegation,” he said.
“I believe their contributions will count for us in the second round of the league.”
Experienced midfielder Panagiotis Kone has been taken on loan from sister club Udinese, while striker Kevin Mercedo has been recalled from a loan spell at Sarmiento.
The Nigeria star is also contending with the cold caused by the winter in Spain, but he has insisted he has no choice but to cope with it.
