Adamawa Govt drags VC, former SSG to court over N460m tax fraud

Attorney General of Adamawa state, Bala D Sanga on Monday dragged the Vice Chancellor (VC) of Modibbo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH), Yola Prof. Kyari Mohammed and former Secretary to State Government (SSG ), Prof. Abdullahi Liman Tukur over an alleged N460,060,823 tax fraud.

The two university Dons were arraigned in the State’s Magistrate court No.4 on Monday, presided by Magistrate Dimaz Elshama in Yola for allegedly evading tax for many years.

Bala who is the Complainant accused Prof. Liman Tukur, a lecturer at MAUTECH (first defendant) who was appointed the SSG, of granting an illegal tax waiver to Prof. Kyari, the VC of MAUTECH (second defendant) in 2014.
