Entrepreneurship success in the digital age requires hard work – Trillbjm, CEO, Fashionnova Nigeria

Making the call while speaking at an informal tech forum in Ikeja, Lagos, Oyemonlan Benjamin Oseoje, aka Trillbjm, CEO of Fashionnova Nigeria, said: “In the digital age, becoming a successful entrepreneur is more accessible than ever before. That doesn’t mean it’s easy. In fact, it’s far from it.”

Aspiring entrepreneurs have been reminded of the need to be prepared to do the hard work necessary for business success.

During a question and answer session, Trillbjm, who is also the founder of a document authentication company, Auth Doc, explained why he invested in a clothing retail brand, despite his reputation as a software expert.

“The Fashionnova idea has been one of my passions from way back. I was in my second year in school when I had a strong passion for opening a fashion franchise here in Nigeria. At the time it was ASOS, but I didn’t have the resources to pull through. Fast forward to 2017/2018, I was a bit stable; so I went for a more global brand like Fashion Nova and decided to extend its services to this part of the world,” he explained.

Sharing his “big lesson of life” Trillbjm said: “Nothing in your life is guaranteed to be there tomorrow, including those you love. This is a hard life lesson to learn, but it may be the most important of all. Life can change in an instant, hence make sure you appreciate what you have, while you still have it.”

To young people aspiring to become business achievers, he emphasized the importance of having a plan. “There is no substitute for a solid business plan,” he said, while also underscoring the importance of mentoring.

Trillbjm further unreeled some nuggets of business advice, saying: “As a budding entrepreneur, it is imperative that you keep your marketing tight, build a strong team, and be ready for financial challenges.”

Successful entrepreneurs, he concluded, “take risks.”
