2019: Let’s Unite, PDP Delta Chairman, Esiso, Tells Members In Isoko
AHEAD of 2019 general elections, Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, Barr. Kingsley Esiso, has sued for unity in the party to enable it emerge victorious in the elections.
Barr. Esiso made the call at the weekend during a familiarization visit by the party leadership to Isoko North Local Government Area of the State.
According to Barr. Esiso who addressed members of the party at Isoko North Secretariat, Ozoro, “it is imperative we unite the party in Isoko North and other areas where we are having pockets of differences as a party in the state and the country because whatever successes we have recorded in the past was largely due to the unity that existed between the party echelon and the people.
“I appeal strongly to the leaders of our party in Isoko North to put aside their differences in order to make the party greater than it used to be.”
Barr. Esiso said that the Isoko North Chapter of the party was very important to the State because they have always delivered the party’s candidates from 1998 to date.
He urged the party in the area to avoid anything that will bring division, assuring that the leadership of the party in the state would always assist the party in the local government to achieve desired results.
He thanked the people of Isoko North for their massive support for Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s SMART Agenda, asserting that while Governor Okowa has managed the affairs of the state creditably well, it was important for the party to be prepared to emerge victorious in all the elections in 2019.
Minority Leader of House of Representatives, Rt Hon. Leo Ogor, at the occasion, acknowledged that there were pockets of differences in the area which would be resolved in the interest of the party and the people of Isoko North Local Government Area.
Earlier, chairman of the party in the local government, Prince Godwin Ogorugba, had assured the state chairman and his entourage of the unalloyed loyalty and support of party faithful in the area to the SMART Agenda of Governor Okowa declaring, “there is NO VACANCY at Delta Government House come 2019.”
The familiarisation visit was attended by several party big wigs in the area including Majority Leader of the Delta State House of Assembly Hon. Tim Owhefere, Delta State Commissioner for Housing, Arch Joseph Ogeh, Political Adviser Hon. Omimi Esquire, Isoko North Council Chairman, Hon. Emmanuel Egbabor, Commissioner Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Hon. Ovie Oghoore, Special Adviser Security, Prof. Saliba Mukoro, Chairman Delta State Post Primary Education Board, Dr. Patrick Akporuno, Immediate past Secretry to State Governmment (SSG), Comrade Ovuozourie Macaulay among others.
Pioneer Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Okoro, moved a motion for vote of confidence to be passed on Governor Okowa, the party leadership from National Chairman, Ahmed Makarfi to the Local Government chapter, Reps Minority Leader, Hon. Leo Ogor, Majority Leader in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Tim Owhefere, the Council Chairman, Hon Emmanuel Egbabor, and the motion which was unanimously adopted was seconded by the State Legal Adviser, Barr. Bernard Odior.
