2018 National Youth Game: Niger state to participate in 16 events

A total number of 158 contingents from Niger State will participate in the 2018 National Youth Game holding at the University of Ilorin, Kwara State.

The contingents comprise 108 athletes, 21 coaches’ secretaries and 29 other officials such as medical personnel, media crew, security, camp commandant, technical officers and Director of Sports, who have been mobilized to compete in 16 games.

The State Commissioner of Sports Development, Honourable Duza Babur had reiterated that the state governor, Abubakar Sani Bello had given a matching order for the contingent to excel and win medals assuring that the Governor was committed to the development of sports in the state.

Alhaji Babur while addressing the contingent known as Team Power, urged them to perform to expectation as an energy team to buttress the status of the state as a power state and charged that the sports ministry will not leave any stone unturned in achieving successes.

Similarly, the Permanent Secretary, of the Ministry, Dr Mohammed Gana, warned that indiscipline and bad character will not be tolerated from the contingent, warning that any of them found wanting will be deal with.

Dr Gana affirmed that the sports ministry had taken all measures to have a victorious outcome during the game at Ilorin.
