2016 Ondo Guber: Aspirant supporters demand electoral materials

Supporters of Dr. Olusegun Abraham, contestant in the 2016 governorship primaries election of Ondo State under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Wednesday stormed the national secretariat of the party demanding for the immediate release of Electoral materials used for the conduct of the primaries as ordered by the federal High Court.
The supporters led by One Chief Kolawole James Oluwole said the refusal of the party to release the materials to the court and Chief Abraham has frustrated the success of the case saying that as a party built on the principles of fairness, the new leadership of the party must respect the law and do things differently concerning Dr. Olusegun Michael Abraham and the case pending in court.
The letter reads: “We write to you as members of the Dr. Olusegun Michael Abraham ‘SUPPORT ORGANIZATION’, which is a major and critical block of the Ondo State All Progressives Congress.
“We note that the case of Dr. Olusegun Michael Abraham against the All Progressives Congress and 3 others arising from the conduct of the September, 2016 Governorship Primary in Ondo State was one of many needless liabilities inherited by your leadership.
“The integrity, constitutional ethos and respect for the rule of law by our party has been put to question by the conduct and predisposition of our party during and after the September, 2016 APC Governorship Primary election in Ondo State, culminating in the suit pending at the Federal High Court.
“As interested party members, we have keenly followed the proceedings at the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court has made orders to the effect that the September, 2016 APC Governorship primary election ballot papers and the delegate list be made available to the Court and Dr. Olusegun Abraham, yet our intelligence shows that there is a strong attempt by some forces within our party to destroy the said materials in a desperate move to suppress facts and destroy evidence”.
The group demand that the party should immediately make available to the court the ballot papers used for the conduct of the September, 2016 Ondo APC Governorship Primary election in accordance with the order of the Federal High Court also, demanding that 2014 delegates list used for the Presidential and National Assembly Primary elections be released in accordance with the order of the Federal High Court,
while asking the leadership of the party to immediately comply with the order of the Federal High Court adding that, “refusal to respect the rule of law will spell doom and amount to a re-enactment of our inglorious past.
“Let justice roll down like waters and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream in our Party. We are confident that the leadership of our party will give a new face to this great party by complying with the order of the Federal High Court”.
