PDP chieftain slams Gov Okorocha over violence

The Deputy Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Imo State, Hon. Gerald Ironna has accused the state Governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha of trying to force himself in the senate (Red Chamber) against the will of the people. Okorohca who is the senatorial candidate of the All progressives Congress (APC) for Imo West (Orlu zone) was alleged to have held the Returning Officer in charge of the zone, Professor I.I. Ibewuchi to hostage and urged his captive to declare him winner of the senatorial election. Hon Ironna stated that it is not the best of a sitting governor to use the military and other security agencies to harass or main other citizens. He said, “Okorocha notorious of engaging fake military men by sowing cloths further to intimidate and terrorize the masses and commit heinous crimes. The former House of Representative lamented that what transpired last Saturday in Orlu zone was not an election where armed military and policemen were deployed in various locations to disrupt and intimated the electorate was anything but good. “Okorocha is not worthy to even aspire to a governor in the first place. He succeeded in inflicting poverty to the people of the state. He only bequeathed misery and would be remembered by the people as a person who do not respect the traditional institution and disregard the rule of law.” He further alleged that Okorocha and cohorts have been thumbing print in the past 10days. He therefore called on the international community and other relevant agencies to come to the aid of Imo State since the military have compromised. He advised oil companies operating in Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta axes not to allow military posted in their oil installations to be used as willing tools to intimidate and harass their people.
