Zumo village head laments lack of basic amenities

The village head of Zumo village in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Peter Akudai, has lamented lack of basic amenities to improve living condition of people in the community.
In an interview with The Abuja Times at the weekend, Akudai stressed that the community was experiencing a hard time in getting potable water, a situation he described as unbearable as women have to travel long distances to get water for domestic use.
The traditional ruler noted that the roads leading to the community are in deplorable state, and pointed out that the situation is usually worsened during the rainy season.
On education, Akudai called on government to build a secondary school in the community to reduce the cost of sending children to school in far distances, which he noted has proven to be more expensive for parents in the area.
He also noted that the community was in need of a primary health care to cater to the sick.
