Youths mobilise for Jonathan as First Lady visits Onitsha

About 5,000 youths, drawn from the 21 Local Government Areas of Anambra State, at the weekend, staged a solidarity rally on major streets of Onitsha for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan.

The youths who wore white tee-shirts with the inscription, Youths of Today for Jonathan, marched through Upper-New Market Road, Oguta and Owerri Road chanting pro-Jonathan songs and some of his achievements.

 

The solidarity march, preceded the visit of wife of the President, Dame Patience Jonathan, who was scheduled to visit Onitsha on Monday to campaign for her husband’s re-election.

Speaking to the press during the rally, the sponsor and Member, representing Onitsha North/South Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Cyril Egwuatu, who spoke through his aide, Comrade Iyke Ozobia, said that the rally was in support of Jonathan’s re-election bid.

He assured the people that the group, Youths of Today for Jonathan, would continue to work towards mobilising Anambra youths to vote for the President’s second term in office.
