Yoruba should go back to old cultural practices Akosejaye –Faniyi

A traditionalist, Chief Fasola Faniyi, has advocated that Nigerians should go back to old cultural practices, whereby people consult Ifa oracle for children’s destiny.

According to the Oluwa Ifa while speaking with the media, “the issue of finding about child’s destiny (akosejaye) is one of the major old cultural practices Nigeria has to embrace, whereby “when a child is born, one can easily tell the child’s destiny from birth to death.

“Ifa oracle needs to be consulted to find out about the life journey of the child and how the parents could guide him or her, including the types of clothes, food etc and if all the warnings are strictly adhered to, the child will grow accordingly, but recently we have abandoned this for modernity.”

Speaking further, Oluwo Faniyi said a child’s destiny can be affected by what he is fed, through the breast milk even before the child begins to eat but if a child’s destiny is found out and known, the parents will be able to guide the child very well.

He therefore advised parents to always consult Ifa oracle to find out about the child’s destiny at birth, describing it as a good important and old cultural practice so that the child can live a good life,” We can achieve this by Ifa consultation.”

Oluwo Faniyi is a graduate of Biochemistry from Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) Ago-Iwoye. He is an outstanding ifa priest and has been recognized for his role in the provision of quality healthcare at affordable cost. He has received various awards for excellence in herbal medicare.
