We won’t surrender NPFL summit, says Bala

Plateau United forward, Reuben Bala has said his side will not surrender the summit in the on-going Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The Tin City side kept their prime position intact with a hard fought score draw on Sunday at top-flight newcomers, Katsina United.

Bala said the matchday 21 clash against newcomers and bottom-placed side, Remo Stars offers his side a golden opportunity to further widen the gap at the top.

“We are not in a hurry to surrender the leadership of the top-flight to any side no matter how endowed the team may be ours is to hold firmly at the summit.

“We know the push to dethrone us will be persistently knocking on all the fronts but such challenges will simply make us stronger and unyielding.

“We have returned to the trenches to prepare for the upcoming clash against the bottom-placed side, Remo Stars after a rewarding experience at Katsina United.

“We spoiled the fun for Remo Stars in their debut match in the top-flight right there in Sagamu nothing suggests they will not get a double of the portion in Jos on Sunday.

“Nothing short of total victory will be satisfactory to us in the encounter as victory in the clash will widen the gap at the top.

“We are more comfortable and confident staying at the top so we will not allow every opportunity to consolidate and improve upon our position to slip off our hands,” said the Plateau United lanky marksman.

The Jos landlords are atop of the 20-team Nigerian top-flight log on 36 points two ahead of closest challengers, Mountain of Fire Miracles Ministries (MFM) FC.
