Women pilgrims charged on spiritual benefits
Women intending pilgrims from Bauchi state have been urged to imbibe the spiritual benefits of Hajj so as to foster peace and religious tolerance in the state.
The wife of Bauchi State Governor, Hajiya Hadiza Abubakar, made the remark yesterday at the two days seminar organised for intending women Muslim pilgrims held at Bauchi Central Mosque Conference hall, explaining that the seminar was aimed at preparing the intending pilgrims for this year’s pilgrimage to Mecca, as according to her,Hajj was the fifth pillar of Islam and the exercise should be handled with all the seriousness that it required.
“I urge you to take advantage of the spiritual benefits of Hajj by imbibing the exalted qualities of the Holy Prophet Mohammed”, she said.
The governor’s wife added that Bauchi state is in dire need of men and women, who have the fear of God, demonstrate religious tolerance, selflessness, who are peaceful and charitable, for the growth and development of the state and the country at large.
Hadiza said “I hope that this Hajj will equip you with the capacity to coexist peacefully with people of other faith, religion and ideology”.
She stated that the state government will provide the intending pilgrims with necessary welfare package, medical, spiritual and other support, as well as ensure that safety and security is guarded and not endangered.
Hajiya Hadiza however charged the women pilgrims to be good ambassadors and be mindful of the image of both the state and the country, calling on them to pray for the country.
