The prosecutor, Sgt. Cyriacus Osuji, had told the court that the defendant committed the alleged offences on Feb. 20, at 11:57a.m. in Eputu Town, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos.
Osuji said that the defendant obtained N500, 000 from the complainant, Mrs O. Ogara, on the pretext of processing a Cyprus Visa for her, but failed to do so.

The prosecutor said that the defendant converted the said money to her personal use, in contravention of Sections 287, 314 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Magistrate, Mrs L. Y. Balogun, granted her bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
She said that the sureties should be gainfully employed and show evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
Balogun adjourned the case until March 9 for mention.
